Fresh Blends Juice Bar Opens

By the time you read this, the citrus peels and carrot pulp may be flying at East Nashville's new fresh juice and smoothie bar. Co-owners Tony Reall and David Edwards, familiar faces from the East Y, have planned a soft opening this week for their first venture, intended to fill the neighborhood's void for quick nutritional pick-me-ups such as smoothies, squeezed-on-the-spot carrot juice and mango-pineapple-oatmeal breakfast shakes. They'll celebrate Saturday with an official grand opening featuring T-shirts, giveaways and special prizes for the first folks to pass through the doors. Beats the hell out of sprawling in the front yard with a lukewarm Sunny D. Joining Fresh Blends soon in the Walden complex on Eastland: Ugly Mugs Coffee & Tea.
