Salsa—Cool! Warm! Hot!, presented by Nashville Ballet, Feb. 11-13 in TPAC's Polk Theater The Ballet features a triple-bill of dance performances featuring three looks at love, lust, humor and the human condition, with two of the pieces choreographed by the company's artistic director, Paul Vasterling. The first, "Seasons," danced to Vivaldi's famous score of the same name, offers sensuous and humorous stylings that explore male-female relationships. "Salsa!" expresses sexy energy with the music of a live onstage band and the talents of local percussionist Lalo Davila. The third dance number, "Clowns and Others," is under the direction of Salvatore Aiello, who has choreographed such previous audience favorites as "The Rite of Spring," "Satto" and "Senza Fretta." Performed to a Prokofiev piano solo, Aiello's creation underscores its lively pace and surface humor with dark shadings. For tickets, visit the TPAC box office, or call Ticketmaster at 255-ARTS.
